Youth Fall sports?registrations?being accepted
Layton City Parks and Recreation will be accepting applications for five youth sports activities starting Monday, Sept. 4.
Applications for the Itty Bitty Junior Jazz basketball camp, the girls? Junior Jazz basketball camp, boys? team basketball, and youth volleyball and wrestling will be accepted from that day until Monday, Sept. 24. Each application has different requirements, so the department is urging those interested in participating to contact the recreation department.

Layton Family Swim night
Layton City Family Recreation and Layton City Surf n? Swim are hosting a Family Swim Night on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 7-10 p.m. Families will receive free admission to the Surf n? Swim during the evening hours, minus tube rental. Concessions will also be available for purchase.

Run for your?heart in Layton
Layton City is accepting applications for the 28th Annual Classic, Run for your Heart 10K, 5K and Kids 1K event being held Saturday, Sept. 8.
The McKay-Dee Hospital Foundation is hosting the event, which will be held at the Layton Commons Park at 437 N. Wasatch Drive. Cost is $30 for the 10K and 5K and $10 for the Kids 1K. Mention the promotional code LAYTON20 and receive a $10 discount. Preregistration deadline is Monday, Sept. 3.

Layton Marathon
The third annual Layton Marathon is accepting applications for the Sept. 29 race. The event is sponsored by On Hill Events and Layton City Parks and Recreation and is a USATF Certified race.
The event will feature four races including the Marathon (26.2 miles), Half-Marathon (13.1 miles), 10K and 5K races. Race times are 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. respectively. The marathon and half-marathon events will start at Antelope Island and participants will be bused to the start location from Ellison Park. The 10K and 5K races will start at Ellison Park and all races will end at the park.
Registration cost is currently $85 for the Marathon event, $65 for the Half Marathon and $35 for the 10K and 5K events. Those who register after Sept. 15 will pay $120, $80 and $45 respectively.

Syracuse Stampede
Fun Run
The ?Syracuse Stampede? fun run is accepting applications for its 12K and 5K trail race, taking place on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 8 a.m. at White Rock Bay on Antelope Island.
Cost is $40 for the 12K (7.5 miles) and $25 for the 5K (3.1 miles) for those who register before Aug. 31. Registrations will be accepted the day of the race for an extra $10. Price includes T-shirt, entrance to the park and goodie bag from area sponsors. Prizes will be awarded for the winners of each category.

Clearfield youth programs?registering
Clearfield City is accepting applications for its Tiny Tot Soccer program. The course is for youth ages three to four with teams consisting of six players. Teams will split into three-on-three games after instruction and will not have a goalie.
Class is held Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 12 ? Oct. 4 at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Classes will be held at Barlow Park, 500 W. 2100 South in Clearfield. Cost is $30 for Clearfield residents and $35 non-residents. There is a $3 special request fee for coach or player.

Itty Bitty Hoops registration
Syracuse City is accepting applications for kindergarten-aged boys and girls for its ?Itty Bitty Hoops? League. The league is instructional and will run for five weeks starting in September. The first 30 minutes will be instructional, with the second 30 minutes having players play a game.
Registration runs through Friday, Aug. 31. Cost is $36 for residents and $51 for non-residents.
Clearfield Fall Men?s Basketball
Clearfield City is currently accepting applications for its Fall Men?s Basketball League, which will begin the week of Sept. 17.
One game per week will be scheduled for each team. The competition league will play on Thursdays with the recreation league playing on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
There will be eight teams per league, plus an end of season single-elimination tournament. All leagues will play at the Clearfield Aquatic Center, 825 S. State Street, or Clearfield High School, 931 S. 1000 East. The registration fee is $400 per team.
