Michigan State became the first No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament to lose out on Thursday when an upstart No. 4 Louisville Cardinals team caught them by surprise and ground their way to a 57-44 win. Louisville shot well enough in the second half, took Michigan State star Draymond Green out of the game early and often and essentially out defended one of the best defensive teams in the entire country en route to earning an Elite Eight spot.
Cardinals blog Card Chronicle posted a locker room reaction from some of the Cardinals players, but didn't have all that much to say otherwise, with the surprise of the shock upset still setting in.
I'm still not 100% sure this is happening.
That's all that needs to be said, really. The Cards will move on to play Florida, who beat Marquette in spectacular fashion on Thursday night, in the Elite Eight.
