Starting Jan. 13, 2013, employers that obtain background checks from consumer reporting agencies must give applicants and employees a new, updated version of the Summary of Rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) form.
The FCRA requires employers to give people a copy of this form if the employer plans to take action?such as not hiring the applicant?based on information in the credit report.
